Starting off by saying this is the 3rd vehicle purchased by our family from Ossipee Trails Motor Sales. The first two , an 03 Tundra and a ’00 Lexus came with no issues and are still driving today. The 3rd, an 05 Subaru purchased by my daughter about 6mos ago has come with baggage. Smartly enough, she purchased the extended warranty (1500. for two yrs). Starting with a engine leak known by the dealer but not repaired before ownership, she brought in in and had this repaired at no cost to her (there’s a 50.deductible) well over a thousand dollar job with taking the engine out etc, thank you. She picked it up that evening and noticed fluid profusely leaking from (?) under the hood that turned out to be transmission fluid, she called immediately and they told her to just drive it back in. Mind you at this point being a seasoned driver myself, there’d be no way I would have drove it. (“towing”) Another big job, again no deductible…and finally picking it up for the 3rd time and driving straight home. The next morning she tries to start it to go to work and a foreign sound comes from the starter, she tries several times and it starts! Gets to work, parks, comes out to go to lunch, and no start NOTHING… tries to put it in/out of park , others from her work place try and they all get no response from the car. She calls OT Motors, and they kindly try to talk her thru it with no success. Well, what would YOU think/do in this situation? Yes a tow back to the place of humble beginnings OT Motors (they called the tow company),and lets find the problem. Tow driver comes out opens the hood, tries adjusting this and that and also finds the car uncooperative and starts to put it on the lift and tries one more time with positive results. No reasoning of why or how…at this point do you say great, all’s well, goodbye, I’ll take my chances after this, or continue with the tow back to the dealer for the professional re adjustments it deserves? Once back at OT Motors they found “nothing wrong with it” And we won’t release it until you pay the 125.00 towing fee. Arrogance by the mechanic was not appreciated and neither was the lack of integrity of Ossipee Motors for their comment of “we didn’t charge you for any of the deductibles did we?” when they knew about the first engine leak before they sold the car. Its too bad things turned out like they have…She (my daughter) still has a relationship/warranty with OT Motors. We don’t/won’t , enough said.
