“At Rose City Motors your job is your credit, come check out our inventory & fill out a credit application to get pre-approved.” They claimed they were going to be my heros and this was going to be our last stop at a car lot……..yeah right. We test drove 5 different vehicles….supposedly approved for the one we finally chose. Took the car home, got the full coverage insurance, ran back and forth from credit unions, finance companies, insurance company, and ROSE CITY MOTORS. They refused to show us the carfax, promised to fix everything wrong with the vehicle(never did,and we brought it in twice just for that reason),and made us get insurance. We had the car in our possesion for almost 2 weeks….. then we get the call, they couldnt get us the financing. But they could….charge us a fortune on top of what they originally told us to keep the car. Buyers beware of ROSE CITY MOTORS and the silver 2003 Kia Sorento with the electrical problems. Shame on you ROSE CITY MOTORS!!!!!!!

We are sorry that this customer was not satisfied with our services. We work very hard to get every customer the very best deal that we can on the financing that they require. Sometimes this means dealing with multiple lenders and can take some time. In this situation it came down to a down payment that the customer could not handle. Most of the statements in the complaint are false and are stated in an attempt to discredit us. This customer has posted his complaint on numerous websites which tells us that he is not looking for a resoltuon, he just wants to do as much damage to our good name as he can. We are sorry that we could not get this customer the terms he wanted and that he does not appreciate all of the time and effort that we put in to get our customers the best possible deal. We hope he finds the hdeal he is looking for.

Thank You,
Dan Kidder

I went to Rose City Motors….They were very helpful. Jimmy Anderson found me a car with payments I could afford. My credit is not so good so it was great for them to help me get into a car as well as helping me to build future credit. Very Friendly and humorous bunch of people. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I have nothing but problems with the Gull Rd Rose City Motors, Greg is the rudest sales person I have ever encountered and I will never say anything good about this dealership and will make sure people know what went through. He told me I was to tell my boss I was leaving to go sign up with the credit union aftetr I had signed papers a week ago and when I said I could not just leave he said I had to it was important and I got upset and was crying and I told him if it was that important I should have been told BEFORE I signed papers and then even though I was so upset and crying he started laughing and I said I don’t think it’s funny and he said I am not laughing at you I am laughing with you, well I WASN’T LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hung up on him.

I recently tried to do business with Rose City Motors at the Jackson location. I am 54 yrs old and have excellent credit (you will need to know this). I was on my way out to Town and Country to purchase a 2009 V-Rod. I seen I was driving by Rose City Motors on my way to T/C so I decided to stop and look at the bikes. I got out of my truck and a young kid walked up to me and asked me “How can he help me?” I told him I was on my way out to T/C to purchase a bike and I wanted to stop here first to see they had anything I might like better. The young kid didn’t have a clue on what to do next so he said “I will be right back”. He went inside and brought out North. This guy is a complete tool. He does know something about motorcycles but his people skills are crap. He asked me what I was looking for. I told him. He asked how my credit was. I told him. He then told me “Well, before we go any further we should go in and take a look at my credit to make sure I could buy one”. I told him, ” I just told you that my credit was great”. He said, “Oh, I know dog but we have alot of people that come in here and jerk us around so before we go any further I need to know if your serious”. I looked at him and said “Did you just call me a dog?” He said “I meant dog and as in home boy”. I said “Home boy?” I started walking to my truck and the young man that first helped me just had a look of sadness on his face. He almost looked imbarresed that his boss, the owner of rose city made a complete ass out of himself by calling a customer “a dog” and “a home boy.” I mean honestly, When someone is going to make a sizable purchase they want to me treated with respect and talked to like a person. I left that place never to return and went and pruchased my V-Rod.
If you are looking for a motorcycle, do not waste your time with Rose City Motors. T/C not only was cheaper, they actually service the bikes there on sight. I told my salesmen Alan at T/C what happened at Rose City and he said “I know I use to work there”. He also told me that every lender Rose City has they have. SO, If you have less then perfect credit DO NOT go to Rose City Motors to buy a bike. Call T/C and they will not only give a good price, they will treat you like a customer, not a pet…

I am no “fan” one way or the other of, Rose City Motors, yet after reading the posted “complaintaints”, I find it difficult to understand how not one of the people that wrote the posts do not take responsibility for anything or even accept what went on as part of business, (ex.) ” approved for the one we “chose and drove home” and then they MADE us secure auto insurance. (HOW DARE THEY) NO… car insurance is a LAW not an OPTION! From experience with my daughter there, without credit, you are at times required a down payment or a co-signer, again not the responsibility of RCM… LIFE with the banking industry. As for, Greg, you are going to judge an entire dealership in three states on on person that lacks professionalism, anyone that would indicate you tell your boss you are “leaving” anything, should be dismissed and turned in to superiors. Further, as for a 54 yr. old with “EXCELLENT” credit, huh, are you aware that RCM is known in the three states it is in as a location to rebuild your credit… so if you needed to take it all so personal that is unfortunate, yet, as you state you were told RCM is to rebuild. People with excellent credit in my (gu)estimation probably do not shop there often. The place has done a lot of good for several poeple I know young (high-school age) and older for reasons that vary and that with out the help of a location like RCM they would have struggled longer due to various finacial situations. Rose City Motors has done good for the county of Jackson and the surrounding locations and I am sure in there new locatrions as well. Working with a salesman/woman is like any one else, if you don’t blend well… pick another the showroom is full. NO i am not affiliated in any way with RCM, just tired of unaccountability and finger pointing. Honest critisim

You Are An idiot ! Did you just waste a lot of time telling someone who had a bad experience they should not complain. Why ? How can they improve without input?
And for all your blustering I bet if you had a bad experience you would feel very justified in complaining. In a long winded not very well spoken sort of way!!!

Mother of Four October 8, 2012 at 9:29 pm

well said!!

Annonymous December 10, 2012 at 10:36 pm

I don’t think that this was about finger pointing or unaccountability but about an experience. You would have to agree with me Nancy that the choices that we make in our lives are based on the perceived experience that choice is going to give us. When you are looking for that dream car that you want to buy and you decided to go to a dealership to buy it would you not agree that you are excited about the prospect of buying a new car? Would you not agree that when you walk into that showroom and based off of a commercial that you have seen that tells you that in an hour or less you are going to be approved for a vehicle under 60,000 miles and an ’05 or new that you don’t already have an idea of what type of vehicle you want to buy that fits that category and that when you get into that car with that low mileage and you drive it that you are going to be HAPPY (which is the operative word) to do it? That if your paper work only takes an hour or less that this means that ALL the paperwork will have been addressed and that you shouldn’t receive a phone call at work talking about leaving? So it this is all based on an experience and on the persona that the company has created around itself to bring in customers. The sad part is that it doesn’t live up to it. And we have seen this throughout the posts on the page. There is an apparent pattern here and as far as William Peterson is concerned the problem starts RIGHT AT THE TOP with the owner. Which is really sad because that means that there is no bar of customer service set for the other employees. Just sayin…..

Jessica June 8, 2010 at 2:48 pm

Most dishonest car salesmen I have ever talked to.These guys are a piece of work. The one they call CAT with her hun this and sweetie that, lol! And Rose Clark WOW!I can’t believe with all the complaints that these guys are still selling cars.Their cars have very high miles on them for the year, they have a lot of issues with their cars if you test drive them and take them somewhere to get them really checked out you will find that out.Do not buy from these guys. With the state of the economy you can go to an honest well known dealership and get a GOOD car with low miles and a payment you can afford and you know you are driving off with a good running car.

Melissa August 5, 2010 at 1:02 am

All of you people are very funny, any used car lot sells junk cars at high prices. It is really that simple, the hole idea is to rip you off not help you. If you are going to buy used cars know what you are doing or you will get burned. If you know what you are doing you will walk away with a good car. Most used cars need things fixed that’s what makes them used. If you have bad credit, deal with it. Be glad they even what to deal with you, and it will cost you. When you have bad credit you pay more money, that’s the punishment for messing up it’s just they way it is. And it is hard to find good sales people. I don’t care for them myself but if I want something they have to be dealt with. So in closing why knock the sales place for doing what they have to do. It’s all about money it’s not about you.

Ron February 9, 2011 at 3:27 pm

Dear Norm Clark

In your TV commercials you say if you are working we will get you financed, but this is not true, my niece contacted rose City Motors and fill out a credit app. Like you say to do, but she was told that she does not make enough money to afford one of your cars, so in none of your commercials do you ever say you have to make a certain amount, this is a unfair practices, to me you need to pull your false adds and redo them stating how much you need to make in order to buy from you.

Definition: The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) officially defines deceptive advertising as “a representation, omission or practice that is likely to mislead the consumer” and “practices that have been found misleading or deceptive in specific cases include false oral or written representations, misleading price claims, sales of hazardous or systematically defective products or services without adequate disclosures, failure to disclose information regarding pyramid sales, use of bait and switch techniques, failure to perform promised services, and failure to meet warranty obligations.

Next class action law suit, it’s your choice!

Anonymous January 28, 2012 at 3:20 am

I’m an outsider just reading these complaints and I have found that many of you who deal with this dealer are more than likely uneducated. I can tell by the way you put your words and sentences together. You’re the ones who should never post responses unless you complete spell/ grammar checks first.

Thank You

Just Sayin' February 13, 2012 at 3:47 pm

I believe that immediately insulting others is offensive and counter productive. Additionally, you previously posted without capitalizing or forming a complete sentence. Truly, you are probably just happy to be able to spell “Anonymous”. Carry on.

By the way, it seems to me that the sales people are stereotyping their customers by using slang terms as greetings. Treating adults like adults, regardless of credit, would be useful. The fact is to get you credit based on your job alone they have to follow requirements including how new the car is; a bad credit location usually has to sell you a car 6 years old or newer. Then they have to look at your income to see if you can afford the payments. I’ve seen plenty of car dealerships sell a car someone can’t afford just because their credit is good. Either way, buying a car these days seems to require a degree and a mechanic.

Tad Weitz May 24, 2011 at 9:42 pm

Our salesman was Zach Wells in Fort Wayne Ind and he worked extra hard to get us a great deal on a PT I am a realist and know with my past bad credit..which is my fault…I will be paying a bit more than any where else but so far the car was delivered just as promised and the product was just as Zach said it would be….
So far I have nothing but good things to say about Rose City motors and if it stays that way will try to send more folks their way..

Cathy Hough September 14, 2011 at 11:10 pm

If you want a lot of runarounds and lies go see Rose City Motors in Jackson.I did an online application and got a call from a salesman who wanted more information. He told me he would call me back in an hour. I never heard from him again and didn’t know where I stood till I got a denial letter from the bank they send the app to. I wrote to the manager of Rose City Motors and complained on this and he gave my app to a salesman who was supposedly “his best”, who had been there for 6 yrs+. I got a call from Justin and he was all talk. He told me to come up as he had 3 vans and 2 cars for me to look at. He was even going to have a van all cleaned up and checked out by himself for me to test drive when I got there. I drove 45 miles to see the vehicles only to find out he had nothing for me. I had called the night before so he knew I was coming. When I got there he went thru his computer listings and said there were no vehicles that fit my credit situation. (the vehicles he showed me I could get with a little more money down were “stepper” cars…. not trustworthy enough to drive a long distance.Funny how he had 5 when I was on the phone with him. I was never even offered the chance to look into the cars or drive any. I would need like $400 more to get a deal started but wouldn’t you think they would want you to actually see the car you are interested in and that way the customer would be more driven to find the money for the downpayment? Well…. I received a letter a few days later from Chase bank (the one they applied to) and it said they would offer me a loan on different terms. I called back to Rose City and TALKED TO THE OWNER! (Mr TV full-of-it) He said He would call me back shortly or have his GM call me in a little bit. I have sat here all day and guess what??? NO phone call!!! *shock* It seems the whole crew at Rose City – from the owner right down to the salesmen are just a bunch of bullshitters. (pardon my language) I would NEVER go to ANY Rose City Motors to get a vehicle… take my advice and stay away from them!

Anonymous January 28, 2012 at 3:29 am

I know a guy that bought a vehicle from them the end of November 2011 and has already had to put new brakes on the car. The engine or transmission will probably be the next thing to go, and the car makes noises when he pulls away. LEMONNNNN

Kevin Smith May 31, 2012 at 4:08 pm

First off, the brakes on your friends car were probably fine when they bought it,correct? I mean that is something you check when you are buying a vehicle, is it not? Sounds like your friend or you do not want to take ownership in a vehicle. There are parts on cars that are classified as NORMAL WEAR & TEAR items.

US SOLDIER July 7, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Kevin has an unrealistic view of the world and thinks he/she is better than everyone else. Also sounds like a person to say something yet never follow threw with his or her actions.

Reasonable Consumer November 24, 2011 at 5:07 pm

Rose City Motors and used car dealerships who “specialize” in BAD CREDIT consumers try to find lenders willing to take a risk loaning money to people who have demonstrated that they fail to honor their financial obligations. Often, those who can least afford things are the most demanding and can be unreasonable as clearly shown in many of the critical comments posted on this and other sites. While everyone initially deserves to be treated with respect and professionally, sadly these transactions often dissolve into “you get what you give.”

Anyone with good credit could find more vehicle choices and likely better prices elsewhere. Those with credit problems need to be honest and upfront with those who are trying to work with them and they need to be reailistic in their assumptions. Good credit is something you work hard to earn and to keep. Bad credit happens for many reasons but bad credit doesn’t mean you are a bad person, it just means you don’t pay your obligations. Therefore, you should expect to pay more for a vehicle that someone with good credit. This means that you are going to be offered higher mileage vehicles and vehicles which come from fleets and other “wholesale” sources.

The entire point of companies which loan money to “High Risk” poor credit customers is to help you obtain basic transportation. This is what you should expect when working with these companies. Do you “DESERVE” a new car? Simply, NO. Because you have demonstrated you have not met your prior financial obligations. Rebuild your credit and you can have more vehicle choices and more loan / credit quality options. Until then, be reasonable and respectful and demand the same from those you are dealing with. Hopefully, you will value good credit and diligently work to achieve and retain good credit. For those who are indifferent to their financial obligations, don’t expect others to care either.

Bought a ford focus about a year ago. Had to put tires on right away $400, motor $1710, need a compressor for air cond.$700-800, drivers side door won’t open from inside, front and back brakes. When my motor went I took it to them. I have an extended warranty. They said I let the oil run dry and there was a massive oil leak (but no oil in driveway) so they wouln’t cover it. When I came up with the money I went some where else. was no oil leak, it sat in my driveway for a month and they said there was still oil in it. They made a mistake and just fixed it without checking the motor out completely. I feel rose city lied about it to cover there selfs. Don’t buy or have your car repaired by Rose city!

bought a fusion about a year ago. Had to replace tires right away ($400), front and back brakes, drivers side door won’t open from inside, motor went ($1710), compressor for air went out ($700-800). I took it to their repair shop when the motor quit, I had no warning signs of the motor going, They had the car for about 8 days.Told me I let the car run dry and that there was a massive oil leak so the extended warranty won’t cover it. I had it fixed some where else. They said there was no oil leak. The car sat in the driveway for a month, they said there awas still oil in it. They didn’t check the engine to see why it quit so I can’t prove anything…but rose city still lied to me. I got a LEMON!!!!

Wow…I am glad I read reviews, I was about to go there. I feel like I dodged a bullet!!

A concerned Mom July 2, 2012 at 9:17 pm

They Suck!
All I could say they lie to you and take advantage of nice people. They cannot look at you in the eyes and just think we are stupid. I just am very disappointed overall. It took forever to get the car fixed. They tried to say that it was too late and we signed sold as…. We only had it for a 1 ½ yr. We couldn’t even drive it for 6 months totally we always had problems from the beginning and it ended up at the garage. We went somewhere else to fix it and the guy told us that now the entire frame is rotten and it’s unsafe.
My daughter has been saving her money since she was 15. It was here first car and they said to us. That they would take care of her first experience and wouldn’t regret their service and now with all of this can’t even sell that dam lemon. I feel terrible and just don’t understand why people in this type of business just don’t care. We try to work hard and we don’t always have the chance to get new cars like other people that have it better… It’s very deceiving and I beg you not to do business there no matter what…. I pray for them. They are cheaters and just don’t car….

Yooper July 26, 2012 at 10:46 am

I just bought a car from there 2 days ago, and I must say I am very pleased with my decision. I had great customer service with a very pleasant associate. Before making the pruchase, I took it into a mechanic to check it out to be sure there was nothing major wrong with it that I would have to make repairs on after buying it. The brakes needed repair, and Rose City motors is fixing it right at this moment. The car had low mileage, and I practically left stealing it. I am very satisfied with my decision. My advise to those who didn’t have their car examined by a mechanic, it’s worth the $50.00 to do so. Thank you RCM for making my first car purchase a great one!

rose city rn November 21, 2012 at 12:52 pm

we have been working with this place for a week we have had 2 diffrent cars that are suppose to fit our bad credit our fault but every time we call to ask what our payment would be or our down payment we get we are busy we will call you back or just come in later but i have like 3 ppl that are waiting to. we never get a result we are taking the car back today and leaving it with no more questions that cat and frank and greg what a work of are they are rude dont know shit about a car. i will go somewhere else, i know i will pay a lil more because of my credit but i should be treated equal and its my credit, the run around game is no fun… also every time we have went in there all cat has done is lie and swear in front of my kids how professional… we are done………

Annonymous December 10, 2012 at 10:43 pm

I know what you mean. She lied to me as well and was actually caught in a lie. If you start out bad you will end up that way.

Annonymous December 10, 2012 at 10:18 pm

I came into Rose City Motors and was told that I could get a good car with low mileage. I gave all of my household information and it became apparent that the dealer was falsifying information. This was really unsettling. He told me that he was going to run my credit through 1 bank that he had in mind only to find that he ran it through multiple banks. Even more so when I was asked what I could pay monthly I gave him my budgeted amount and he adamantly told me that he couldn’t meet that amount only to get a call later where he told me that could. One of the employees came into the dealership while I was sitting there with my kid and was cursing and shouting at another employee. Very unprofessional. I am glad that I did not purchase a vehicle from this company. I have not read as many negative reviews about a company as I have Rose City Motors. The things that those customers went through only brings to the fore the trouble I was spared by NOT purchasing a car from this company. I don’t even want to share my name due to the fact that they just may run my credit again for no reason. I would trust them as far as they can be thrown.

My experience with Rose City Motors was a excellent. I was treated with respect and was given the best deal in purchasing a used vehicle in the same day. Mr. Anthony Jackson was the best salesman I have ever dealt with in regards to purchasing a vehicle. He was very thorough in explaining every process of the car paperwork in plain English. I was very well informed of the make, model, color, year and all the features/mechanical aspects of the car prior to the test drive. I love my 2008 Chevy Malibu!!!! Mr. Jackson and Rose City Motors honored their word with me. My car drives like new! Mr. Jackson’s honest, straight-forward attributes is what I expect in a car salesperson. I like the direct and straight-forward approach. I like to know the truth about a product before investing my money /credit into any item. A vehicle is the next crucial investment one can make in their adult life. I had several vehicles in mind. I was able to communicate to Mr. Jackson, who was polite, honest, straight-forward with the truth with pros and cons of each vehicle on my list. I love my 2008 Chevy Malibu!!!! Mr. North Clark took the time out of his busy schedule to greet me and verify if I was happy with my purchase. YEAH!!! Absolutely!!!! Thanks to Mr. Jackson and Rose City Motors! I have purchased the best deal from the lot!!! I give my experience an overall rating of 5 STARS!!!

Thank You!!!!

I thought about purchasing a car from these guys but after reading all the post I’m a little skeptical. I live in Ky so I don’t get to test drive the car. Was wondering once you get the car when you’re in another state and decide you won’t want the car how likely is it that they will take the car back? Does anyone know?
