Where do I start? The car was OK, but it needed a new sticker before sale. This was on Saturday morning. There were also some issues that had to be addressed including a chip in the windshield. We were told the car would be ready by Wednesday, but we assured the salesman we were in no hurry, and to please take the time and make certain the car was fixed and ready to go. This was on Tuesday. The finance manager (we didn’t finance, we paid cash) called us several times from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday morning to ask when we could pick up the car? We again said we were in NO HURRY and would rather wait until everything was fixed. At his last call on Friday morning, we asked it it was ready, and were assured it was all set to go. We went down Thursday afternoon, but it had not had ANY of the issues addressed. We said we would be back the next day and to please have it ready. This is a week after we purchased it at full asking price. When we arrived the next day on our lunch hour, the car was STILL not ready. We ended up taking the car home later that afternoon and scheduled an Oil Change with our own mechanic on Monday. The inspection sticker was new, but it was from a small repair shop in the next town, and was not legal as the car would not pass inspection. The original issues that we had asked to get fixed a WEEK before picking it up had yet to be addressed. I had simply had enough. I had to argue with the salesman, and eventually had to phone the general manager for the Dealership to get some simple answers. Still, almost a week and a half later, the car is still at the dealership. It has just today (Tuesday) been looked at for the issues today. I had been promised several times these things would be taken care of. They have not. I would dearly love to unwind the deal and get my cash back, but my wife insists that we let the dealership fix the issues. It’s a 3rd car, so we really don’t need it right now. However, having purchased 17 cars in 20 years, I found this dealerships approach arrogant and demeaning. Had this been the first car i had bough from Darlings I may be able to give them a break. It’s the 4th, and I have sent friends and relatives to buy cars there, although to a different Darlings Location. I was supposed to test drive an expensive SUV tomorrow, but that will not happen. Their shortsightedness and extremely poor customer service has cost them at least one sale. And you can be certain anyone who asks me about this dealership will hear this story. In closing, this Augusta location of Darlings comes across to me as arrogant, condescending, and seems to care little about repeat sales, customer service, or service after the sale.

At the end of the day, I fully realize that my business is not crucial to Darlings. One person who buys a few cars over the course of five years is not a big deal compared with the hundreds of cars they sell. But everyone deserves at least a little honesty when they enter into a sales agreement. And the tiniest bit of respect. I found neither. I will not return for another car at Darlings of Augusta.

Update.

After a week and a half, Darlings..finally made it right. It was not easy and it took me running down to Augusta a total of 5 times. You decide if this is the experience you want or not.

Traded my 06 subaru outback with 25,000 miles for a 07 buick lacrosse with 25,000 miles. Nothing but problems with this car from day one. chrome falling off, water leaks, radio, powersteering rack leaked all ps fluid out!!, power steering pump, air bag issues and the big issue THE TRANSMISSION!! Harsh shifts, no power thing, Darlings has tryed to fix this car several times!!! its better for a while but problems return.
Darlings was good about this for a while, they would come pick up the car give me a loaner and return my car.
We were searching on the computer looking to find a fix for this car it has the 4t65e transmission. we found several complaints about this transmission but no true fix!!!
We also found that the 05-09 buick lacrosse has a real unsafe side crash rating go to http://www.youtube and check out the 07 buick lacrosse side impact test. I asked darlings about this. kevin tessio told me that he was going to make this righ one way or another. he told me that he was calling gm to ask them to do the tsb for side safety issues. and ask them how would they like it if this was their car and they had to drive it like that.
Well thought all was going to be ok but, darlings took my door apart and said that the tsb couldnt be done seems that not only is there a structure issue with the lacrosse but there was also a airbag wire harness that had to be updated because of not going off. and this will not help the side structure issue!! well after that kevin told me that he could do no more with the transmission or the side structure issue airbag issue!!! so I asked him how he was going to make it right??? well NO ANSWER. I called chuck levette, told him about this car and asked how much they would buy it back for?? at that time I had had it for like APX 6 months I paid 18.000.00 thousand dollars for it. and now chuck told me that they would give me 12,500.00. Well to me that is just not right.
To make a loooong story short, there seems to be NO fix for the transmission even though when the car is doing the draaaag thing and no power thing I push the onstar button and they told me some SI DOC numbers to give to darlings service department so I did and Now they will not even talk to me!!! I have called GM several times talked to Florence SEVERAL times and now she tells me that MY CAR IS WAY OUT OF WARRANTY THIS IS WHY GM WILL NOT FIX IT!! well my car has a 4 year 50,000 mile bumper to bumper and a 5 year 100,000 mile power train warranty. so my car is 4 years old and has now 38,000 miles on it how is it WAAAYYYY out of warranty???? darlings doesnt care that I now have a unsafe car with a transmission issue that makes the unsafe side impact rating even worse!!! GM and darlings will not give me the results of the lacrosses side impact rating that were not involved in this tsb and it seems that there is no info on the lacrosses that “didnt have this problem”.
I am thankful for all that darlings has done but I think that since there is a issue with the 4t65e transmission with the lacrosse, grandprix, lucerne, and more that gm has SEVERAL TSB’s for that darlings could do a little better on buying this car from me because there is no fix!!!!!!!
it is sad to pay 18,000.00 for a car to find out that it is a unsafe lemon. and that darlings will not help!!!!! its sad that I have to drive this car everyday knowing that if someone was to hit us on the side because there is NO side structure well will get badly hurt or even killed, I just hope it is on my side because im the STUPID on who purchased this car!! and when I told darlings this!!! this is when they stopppped answering my questions!!!!! this has been a heck of a year with this car!!! lots of sleepless nights and lots of time spent ( and I will use GM’S words) WAISTED on the phone!!! this is what I get for being a loyal GM customer!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE, returned the 07 lemon lacrosse back to darlings for the reduce power light, airbag lights, seems that the airbag issue is the pass side airbag module for the seat, was replaced once already!!! this time it took darlings over a month to get the “new and improved part” and nothing was done about the reduce power pull over when safe transmission issue.
got the car back that same day while driving it I could smell transmission fluid burning smell while driving, called darlings service department, was told nothing could be done till a failure takes place. took car to bangor dealer where i was told they could smell it when I drove it in the drive up service bay!!! they looked at it told me it was internal. nothing showed up on the outside if transmission.
being told this and being told by JAY DARLING that he felt there was nothing wrong with that car besides the fact he feels I just dont like the car and my wife is scared to ride in it because of the no power thing while merging, and the FACT that all 05 -09 lacrosses get a POOR side impact crash test result. nice of him!!! I purchased the lemon for 18,000.00 and with no fix for this lemon I sold it back to darlings they gave me a whole 13,000.00 and they got to keep MY MICHELINS I PAID ALMOST 1000.00 FOR!!!! (NICE OF THEM…..
DARLINGS PUT THE LEMON LACROSSE ON THE LOT FOR SALE, ON OCT 4TH AND BY THE 31ST IT WENT TO AUCTION!!! WONDER WHY JAY???? DID YOU FIND IT HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS IT HAD FROM DAY ONE WHEN I PURCHASED IT??? NO POWER THING WATER LEAKS, RADIO, TRANSMISSION SLIPS BANGS, TRANSMISSION DRAAAGGS UP HILLS, AND ONCE AGAIN THE AIR BAG LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! LEMON FROM DAY ONE AND THIS SALES DEPARTMENT DOESNT CARE WHAT ISSUES IT HAS, YOU PURCHASED IT IT YOURS AND THEY COULD CARELESS!!!! KEVIN TESSEO TOLD ME RIGHT FROM THE FIRST WEEK THAT HE WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT!!! AND I GUESS HIS WAY WAS WAIT TILL I COULDNT STAND IT ANYMORE AND TAKE THE 13,000.00 FOR IT!! SO THEY COULD SELL IT FOR THE 16,000.00 17,000.00 IT BOOKS FOR. BUT DONT THINK IT WORKED OUT FOR HIM THAT WAY THOUGH?? I HOPE THEY LOST SOME MONEY ON THE ‘DEAL’ OF SENDING IT TO AUCTION BECAUSE ITS A LEMON BUT IM SURE THEY DIDNT LOSE 6,000.00 LIKE I DID!!!
THE RIGHT THING TO DO JAY WOULD HAVE BEEN TO FIND ME ANOTHER CAR AND TRADE ME OUT OF THE LEMON YOU WOULDNT HAVE LOST ANY MONEY BUT I GUESS ITS CAUSE YOU WOULDNT HAVE MADE THE 5,000.00 ON THE NEW ONE YOU WERE SELLING ME AND THE 6,000.00 ON THE LEMON I WAS TRADING!!! 6000.00 MAY NOT BE ALOT OF MONEY FOR SOME PEOPLE BUT FOR SOME IT IS !!!!!!!! BUT LIVE LEARN DEALERS SCREW PEOPLE EVERYDAY GET AWAY WITH IT SO I THINK THEY DONT EVEN KNOW IT IS WRONG WHEN THEY SELL A LEMON WITH SAFETY ISSUES AND NOT HELP THE CONSUMER!! BUT AGAIN THEY GOT YOUR MONEY THEY COULD CARE LESS!!!!!!!!
thanks darlings and gm for selling me a lemon!!! and JAY DARLING I GUESS IT WASNT JUST THE FACT THAT YOU FELT I JUST DIDNT LIKE THE CAR AND THAT MY POOR WIFE WAS SCARED TO RIDE IN IT BECAUSE OF IT BEING AN UNSAFE CAR!!!! GUESS YOU FOUND OUT TOO THAT IT DID INDEED HAVE ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT I SAID IT DID OR OTHER WISE IT WOULD HAVE STAYED ON THE LOT LIKE THE BLUE LACROSSE THAT YOU HAVE HAD ON THE LOT FOR ALMOST A YEAR??? RIGHT???
THANKS AGAIN SOOOOO MUCH
