MAHINDRA XUV 500

The Mahindra XUV 500 is a mid-size SUV produced by the Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra. It was launched in 2011 and is based on the X100 platform. The XUV 500 is available in both petrol and diesel versions. It is powered by a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine, which produces 140hp of power and 330Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. The XUV 500 is equipped with several features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a sunroof, a rearview camera, a push-button start, cruise control, and more. It also has an active rollover protection system for added safety.

The Mahindra XUV500s available on the market have two diesel engines and one petrol engine. The diesel engines are 2179 cc and 1997 cc, respectively, while the petrol engine is 2179 cc, with manual and automatic transmission options.

The car is well-designed. It has 200 mm of ground clearance. The length is 4585mm, and the width is 1890mm. The car's height is 1785mm, and the wheelbase is 2700mm.

There is an additional feature to offer to the XUV500 users. They can take advantage of the Mahindra Blue Sense App, which gives them access to control various car functions like the infotainment system, and climate control, and view vehicle stats like mileage, fuel range, and tire pressure on a smartphone or a smartwatch.

There are four cylinders in the car, which help in generating power. Fuel efficacy depends on the number of cylinders a car has.

There are two airbags for safety in the driver's and front passenger's frontal areas. Along with the hand break, there are front and rear brakes for an easy halt. ABS is also there, which helps in emergency stops by restoring the tires' traction.

There is an ESP (Electronic Stability Program) to assist the driver in an emergency.

The XUV500 has a maximum power output of 152152.87bhp@3750rpm.

The luggage space of the car is 96 ltr.

Rare sensors with a camera facility in the XUV offer a premium level of road safety norms.

Mahindra takes exceptional care of its suspensions. Frontal and rear suspensions are available, which are essential to make the journey smoother and less bumpy.

Mahindra provides smart keys to lock and unlock the vehicle.

The passengers will get a "Door Ajar" warning when the doors are not properly locked. There are child safety locks too.

The driver can get the assistance of a power-operated Auto-Dimming Rear-View Mirror at night for hassle-free driving.

The car's mileage is an average of 14 km per liter. The mileage may vary according to road conditions and traffic. The capacity of the fuel tank is 70 liters. It is ideal for long journeys.

The pricing of all variants of Mahindra SUVs is in-between USD 15039.38 to USD 25065.64. The price depends on the individual details and model of the car.


THE INTERIOR DESIGN OF THE XUV500


The XUV comes with a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a large center armrest up front, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and ac vents where the passenger can change the direction of the vents.

One unique feature of the XUV is that there will be radar-based ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which might include additional assistance features such as autonomous emergency braking, frontal-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and more.

There will be a high-power air-conditioning system with a modulation facility. All three rows have vents; the direction of the ducts can be changed according to the comfort of 

the passengers.

Storage spaces are available in all the front and rear doors. Cup holding spaces are also there.

The latest model of the Mahindra XUV500 will come with an eyelid tracking technique and a 3D panoramic view for the driver. The XUV might receive connected car technology, ventilated seats, wireless charging, powered front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and LED.

Seven people can easily be accommodated in the car with enough leg space. There are headrests, too, for a comfortable ride.

THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR

The new models of the Mahindra XUV500 will get flap-type door handles; in older models, we are accustomed to seeing the side-hinged units. The horizontal lines at the back make it look more comprehensive than before.

WARRANTY

The car has a basic warranty of 3 years or 100,000 km; it depends on whichever comes first. And an extended warranty of four years or 1,20,000 km for petrol engines.
