I recently bought my car from basil resale. In August to be exact…I just took my car in for a routine oil change and was told my car that in 5 months old has issues(leak in transmission line and intermidiate shaft makes noise). I was told these issue are not covered by Basil. My car cost was about 10,000 for a used car and now a mechanic tells me for repairs needed I am looking at about 600.00 more to spend. I have had nothing but problems, I should have seen red flags from the start since the car was never even detailed when I got it, the remote starter remotes did not work, and the car even sporadically has issues with starting period. Basil did reimburse me back for the detail I had to get else where and did fix the remote starters but this has been hassel after hassel I would have kept my old car and put the money I spent on this car had I of known each time I have issues I would get headaches and now they wont even stand by the so called minor issues they sold me

I just purchased a car from Basil. When I picked up the car the detail was not done, the car starter did not work, a new chip in the door, no gas in the tank, they didn’t have the extra key and had to wait two hours before I even got out of there. Took the car home and now have new problems. I would love to return it but my 3 days are up. They are suppose to “make it right” on Monday. Will see what happens. Would never go back….

recently bought a 07 torrent from basil on sheridan and it has been nothing short of a nightmare, i busted my ass to buy my first car then traded it here for this suv the day i bought it i get home and my brake light is out, i call my sales rep AL MARSHALL and tell him he tells me to bring it in they will take care of it i get there only to hear “its not covered” then my turn signal breaks in the steering column soon after this my windows are bouncing as they roll up and down so now im afraid they may shatter so its abt 85 degrees and im drvining with windows up and ac on doing nothing but wasting gas then my windshiled wiper breaks on the thruway while it is pouring had all these problems within the first month of buying my vehicle and they are not willing to do anythign causing my to loose a 6000 down payment! i am not giving up untill i am reimbursed because the fact they can do this to people and get away with it is disgusting to me!!!!! please if you have had a problem post it

I bought a 2004 Ford Taurus from Basil on Abbott Rd. in S. Buffalo. I’ve had the car 3 months and the airbag sensor is gone, the speedometer is off by 15 miles, the car stalls all the time while driving. I took it back to the dealer and he sent it over to Basil Ford and they put it on their computer and couldn’t find anything wrong! Said the speedometer is right on, and wanted to charge me almost $500. to fix the airbag sensor, the speedometer (which were like that when I bought the car) and said they could not guarantee the car would run any better, cause they really had no idea what was wrong with it! I think they need some new mechanics! I will not be recommending Basil to anyone!! I have never had so many problems with any used vehicle that I bought!

So I am writing again to let everyone know how awful Basil is. I purchased my van on 6/6/2010, since than the vehicle has been in about 5 times. I have had the van in two or three times for it shaking uncontrollably, within the 90 days. The first response was that it shakes but they do not no why, second response is because of the tires. I was told that there is nothing they can do, I would have to put new tires on to make the van stop shaking and that is why you test drive the vehicle. Ok, don’t you think I would have mentioned or probably not have a bought a vehicle that shaked uncontrollably. The van was also brought in for the dash lights flickering, air conditioning not working and the vehicle over heating. Which had nothing to do with the car starter they installed in the vehicle that took 4 times to get working correctly. Ok, here’s the kicker–I just found out that they charged me fees for things I did not agree to and was not completed. I have been trying to set up an appointment with Corey the manager (two emails and no response). So the next step is the attorney. Interested to see if fraud is being comitted. (Check your contract that you signed, I found 1 fee that was paid that they did not deduct and an additional fee that they charged for service not done). Do I smell class action law suit? Anyone have the same problems…..Enough is enough. Shady business practices against consumers have to stop. It has to start some where why not with me…. Lastly, I just found out—that my van is worth $9K less than I paid for it. Thanks Joe, your a stand up guy I am sure your family is proud. Wondering how they received bank approval if the vehicle is not even worth what they sold it to me for. Again, class action…..

I will never recomend Basil Resale Sheridan to anyone for purchasing a used car. I caught their former service manage in a lie, they refuse to back their product, instead trying to sell extended service plans. The SUV that I purchased from there has had major problems from day one, and they have never taken responsibility for selling a lemon!

My wife just bought a used car from basil resale sheridan and since the beginning they were deceiving, trying to sell us a car that had a hidden crack on the bumper many things needed some work and they never mentioned it to us, so be careful when u buy from these guys they are the worst. My biggest issue with them is that when we bought the car we had to put a code in the car every month as soon as we make the payments, now on the lease it showed that our payments were due the 10th of every month and in their systems for somehow the payments were due the first of every month, now when that date passes without a payment being made they give you 5 days period grace and then after that the car shuts off, i had to chase these guys literary every month since we bought the car to fix the issue and every time they give me promises that the issue will be fixed, this is my fifth month now and the issue continues and i am about to file a complain against them with the federal trade commission as i am writing this. they don’t handle their customers in a professional way and all they care about is how they take your hard earned money, they are so rude and deceiving.

5 words DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! Terrible lying deceiving bad people and worst cars. I read reveiws and thought, no this wont happen to me but sure enough im stuck paying for a lemon needed severe work after after a day of driving. Next time im going to west herr at least they dont sell lemons, even though they dont have great customer service either. Overall dont waste your time or money here.

Don’t go to West Herr. They’re even worse than what I’m reading here. Bought an 02 Buick LeSabre in 2008. Since then, I’ve spent approximately $8000 in repairs. Since I bought it in Feb, I didn’t realize the air conditioner was broke. They didn’t tell me and refused to cover it. The drivers side window regulator broke within 2 days and they tried to charge me $600 to fix it. I was able to talk them down to $300 to find out that’s how much any other shop charges. At any rate, West Herr is horrible and I would never buy anything from them again.

Bought a 2007 Audi Turbo, 20k purchase. After 2 weeks smoke was blowing out exhaust.. Have been to dealer 7 times trying to get vehicle fixed. They claim its this sensor or that sensor and put me off until lemon period was over.(slick) They then tell me turbo is gone and its not covered. Even though its factory installed. So I paid $500.00 toward the repair. Two weeks later same problem. So I took to Audi dealer who might know what the problem is. After a week in shop they tell me engine needs a ring job. $5400.00. So am driving until my complaint is heard from Attorney Gen. office. If no satisfaction will get lawyer. The sales manageer is a so called person of faith. RIght. Faith in his pocket book. Oh, the dealership is the DELAWARE AVE> Store. DIfferent location same crooks.

My experience with basil resale was horrible after being promised that a deposit I had put down would be available to pick up if I had changed my mind was magically sent to the bank.. on a “misunderstanding” Dealing with the hassle of the policy of ten business days, even though the check had gone through on my end, was ridiculous. Everyone I dealt with was rude, maybe because I am female but none the less I would never recommend anyone going here. Also as soon as i left the dealership I had gone to my own bank to see what type of loan I could get and wouldn’t you know instead of the 5.5% THEY said was a “Miracle”, MY bank offered me 3%..

Purchased a used 2013 vehicle in 2013. The sales pitch was *very* rushed.
The vehicle was overpriced.
Did not receive advertised rebate.
*Received the vehicle with a filthy interior, including food wrappers under the seats, dirty instrument cluster, grease mark on dash. Appeared to have not been detailed prior to sale. The only saving grace for Basil Resale Center Sheridan is the service department.
Will not recommend this dealer.
